As I was driving home from work Tuesday evening, listening to sports talk radio and thinking about the bowl of ice cream I would devour while watching my DVD of The Office, I heard some great news. The announcer reported that Buffalo Bills tight end Kevin Everett, who sustained a "catastrophic" and life-threatening injury in Sunday's game against the Denver Broncoes, was doing better. The original thought was that Everett would never walk again after sustaining a spine injury. He had voluntary movement in his arms and legs Tuesday, which is good news.
The injury just goes to show what a violent sport football can be, even with the helmets and shoulder pads.
