Copper signs with Chiefs

Terrance Copper will be wearing new colors next year.
Copper, who will be playing for his fourth team in six years, signed with the Kansas City Chiefs on Tuesday. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
A phone call to Copper late Tuesday evening was not returned.
Copper played last year with the Baltimore Ravens, but his season was riddled with injuries. He finished the season with two special teams tackles and no tackles for the first time in his career.
Copper, a former Washington Pam Pack and East Carolina standout, started his NFL career with the Dallas Cowboys and played there for two seasons.
The 6-0, 207-pound receiver played with the New Orleans Saints in 2006 and 2007, and was then released by the team during the 2008 season.
Copper signed with the Ravens during the 2008 campaign.
In a post-season interview, Copper said not being able to play much during 2008 would inspire him to work extra hard during the off-season.
“It definitely inspires me,” Copper said. “It really puts things into perspective about how much weightlifting needs to be a part of your off-season workout routine.”
Copper has 46 receptions for 600 yards and six touchdowns in his career. He also has 26 kickoff returns for 502 yards (19.3 average) and 41 special-teams tackles.
The Chiefs, who also signed wide receiver Bobby Engram on Tuesday, finished 2-14 last year.
