Daniels on pace for 5,000

Washington Pam Pack senior running back Travis Daniels has galloped for 4,329 yards in his career. He has a chance to reach the 5,000-yard mark before he's done.
He'll need some big games against New Bern (Senior Night at home on Friday), at Havelock (Oct. 26) and at West Carteret (Nov. 2) to reach the mark. However, Daniels and the Pack should have at least one playoff game as well.

Saturday, October 13, 2007

What were you doing in 1970?

I was heading toward my sixth birthday. Things were "groovy" back then.

It was 1970. That's the last time the Washington Pam Pack defeated the J.H. Rose Rampants.

Washington has a chance to win Friday night, which is a big deal because the Pack hasn't had a chance the last few years, including a 78-0 loss a couple years ago. Think Sport Sawyer, the coaches and players haven't forgotten about that one?

Washington enters Friday's game at Greenville with a 6-1 record, including a perfect 3-0 slate in conference play.
Rose has a 4-3 mark.

Who wins?

There is a huge game between Washington and West Craven tonight. The Pack will need to rely on a strong game to keep the ball away from the pass-happy Eagles. Washington will need to keep West Craven from popping the big pass plays for touchdowns.

My postseason baseball predictions

A 13-inning play-in game between the San Diego Padres and Colorado Rockies (the Rockies won) got me juiced for the baseball playoffs.
Here are my predictions.

NATIONAL LEAGUE
Phillies beat the Rockies
Cubs beat the Diamondbacks
Phillies beat the Cubs

AMERICAN LEAGUE
Red Sox beat the Angels
Indians beat the Yankees
Indians beat the Red Sox

WORLD SERIES
Indians beat the Phillies.

Okay, so I'm picking with my heart in going with the Indians, but I'm sticking to it.
