Trimane Goddard and his North Carolina Tar Heels will play West Virginia in the Dec. 27 Meineke Car Care Bowl. The game, which will kick off at 1 p.m., will be played at Charlotte’s Bank of America Stadium, home of the Carolina Panthers.
It will be televised on ESPN. Both teams enter the bow game with 8-4 records.
Goddard, a former star at Roanoke High School, has the seven interceptions (one returned for a touchdown), 48 tackles, five pass break-ups, two fumble recoveries and a forced fumble this season for the Heels.
Goddard, named as the All-ACC First Team safety, has 12 interceptions and 176 tackles in his career.
